Nagaland Deputy CM TR Zeliang asks agencies to complete ongoing road projects within specified period
Dimapur: Deputy Chief Minister, TR Zeliang on Friday asked the National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL), PWD (National Highways), and Border Road Task Force (BRTF) to complete the ongoing road projects in Nagaland within specified period without compromising quality.
Zeliang, who convened the first joint meeting of the three road projects implementing agencies at the Civil Secretariat Conference Hall, after taking over the charge of the National Highways, said the agencies were answerable to the people and should provide quality roads as per detailed project report (DPR) specifications and contract agreements.
Maintaining that his primary objective was to provide sustainable roads to the people of the state, the deputy CM said that he was also responsible for updating the state government and the people on the progress and status of all National Highways in the state.
In the meeting that lasted for more than three hours, he said all roads in the state should be aimed in benefitting the common people, according to a communiqué.
He also expressed eagerness to work with the three implementing agencies and assured it of full cooperation for successful implementation of road projects, while asking to give its best and set an example for other states.
