Y Patton along with BJP elected members and former candidates during a consultative-cum-interactive meeting in Kohima on Friday.

DIMAPUR — Deputy Chief Minister and leader of BJP legislature party (BLP), Y Patton, has called upon the party leaders including the elected representatives and former candidates to collectively work for the progress of the party in the state.

Patton stated this during a consultative-cum-interactive meeting of the BJP elected legislators with former candidates held at his official residence in Kohima on Friday. The main purpose of the meeting was to uplift the spirit of the former candidates and to ensure unity within the party, regardless of the election outcome, stated an update from the deputy CMO office.

Patton has stressed on the importance of both the victorious candidates and those defeated candidates to work together for the party’s progress in the state.

It stated that one key discussion point was boosting the morale of the defeated candidates. It was emphasised that their efforts during the campaign was valuable to the party. It was also aimed at creating a platform where both the winning and losing candidates could learn from each other.

Report further stated that the idea of unity, encouragement and mutual learning was emphasized in the larger interest of the party in the state.

It informed that out of the twenty members, four members could not attend the meeting owing to their official engagement.
