Nagaland: DC Dimapur extends restriction on movement of vehicles

Dimapur, Aug. 23 (EMN): In supersession of its earlier circular dated July 22 regarding total restriction of all movement from Chathe River Bridge (Patkai Bridge) to New Chümoukedima (Pakala Pahar Bridge) from 10:30 pm to 5 am, Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, has extended the same with effect from August 25 to September 24.

In addition to the above, Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Kevekha Kevin Zehol, stated that all movement would also be restricted from 3 to 30 pm and also 4:30 to 5 pm to facilitate the use of explosive.

While regretting on the restriction of movement, the DC stated that the steps were initiated as preventive measures to avoid loss of life, property and other injuries. He has sought cooperation of everyone.

Alternative route from Dimapur-Kohima/ Kohima–Dimapur for light vehicles is via 7th Mile-New DC office- Shokhuvi – Razaphe- Mhaikam – Pimla – Mhainamtsi – Jharpani/ Medziphema and vice versa.
