Nagaland Cricket Association announces trials for both boys and girls

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) has announced open trials 2024-25 for both boys and girls from July 16 to the 26th at Sovima Cricket Ground.

As per the update, open trial for Boys U-16 will be held on July 16, while Men’s U-19 trials for Dimapur, Niuland and Chumoukedina is scheduled for July 17 and the rest of the districts on July 18.

Men’s U-23 trials for Dimapur, Niuland and Chumoukedina will be held on July 19 and for the rest of the districts on July 20, while Senior Men’s trial for the former three districts is scheduled for July 22 and the rest of the districts on July 23.

For Women’s (all categories) trials will be held from July 20 to the 26th. The venue for all the events is Sovima Cricket Ground in Chumoukedina.

In regard to eligibility, contenders for Girl’s U-15 should be born between September 1 2009 and August 31 2012 and players for Boys U-16 should be born between September 1 2008 and August 31 2010.

For U-19, both Boys and girls, players should be born on or before September 1 2005, while for U-23, a player should be born on or before September 1 2001.

The update went on to inform that fitness test will be conducted during the trials. It is mandatory for players to bring a letter of recommendation from respective district cricket association along with original birth certificate, aadhaar card, and pan card at the time of reporting for further scrutiny of documents. For Girls U-15, Boys U-16 and Boys/Girls U-19, additional school marsksheet/school leaving certificates are required.

Respective district cricket associations should strictly verify player’s documents, it informed, adding that the participants should wear a white dress for the trials.
