Nagaland Covid-19 update: Two more test positive; tally stands at 130
Dimapur, June 11 (EMN): Two more returnees tested positive for Covid-19 at the bio-safety level 3 (BSL-3) virology laboratory in Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (now Covid-19 hospital) on Thursday, taking the total number of the positive cases in Nagaland to 130.
This was informed by the minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, through an update on Thursday morning.
“2 new cases of Covid-19 positive have been reported out of the 293 samples tested. Both cases are from Kohima Quarantine Centres,” the minister tweeted.
Till date, Health authorities in Nagaland have declared 22 patients as ‘recovered’ — eight patients on June 6, two on June 9 and 12 on June 10.
Nagaland recorded its first three Covid-19 positive cases on May 25. The number of positive cases breached 100-mark on June 6 as 13 returnees from Chennai were tested positive for the virus, taking the state’s tally to 107.
As per the Health department’s update, there are 108 active cases in the state and no death so far.
