Entry or exit from the containment zone — St. Paul Training Institute — strictly prohibited

Dimapur, March 31 (EMN): St. Paul Training Institute in Phesama, Kohima district, has been declared as containment zone in view of Covid-19 positive cases being detected at the establishment.

The deputy commissioner of Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, on Wednesday issued an order stating that entry or exit from the containment zone is strictly prohibited and that it is necessary to map the local transmission of the disease and prevent the contagion from spreading.

“The containment zone was mapped and cordoned off and the public and all concerned have been advised to follow all safety precautions of wearing masks all the time, frequently washing hands and maintaining social/physical distances to ensure public and personal safety within the proximity of the containment zone,” read the order.

It  also stated that ‘the residents within the containment zone will be regularly monitored by the medical team over phone or otherwise, till they recover or test negative for Covid-19 infection, and shall henceforth be fully governed by the various SOPs, advisory and guidelines and discharge policy of the government’.

The order went on to warn that those failing to comply with the guidelines will be penalised under Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 and relevant sections of IPC.

The move came after Nagaland witnessed a sudden spike in Covid-19 cases with 107 persons being tested positive for the virus in Kohima on Wednesday.
