Nagaland Covid-19 update: More queries from public

Dimapur, being the cosmopolitan area of Nagaland, has been one of the most vulnerable places in the state regarding the Covid-19 and the government has been taking various precautionary measures to tackle the disease from spreading in Nagaland.

According to the Nagaland status report, as on March 21, 26592 people have been screened, which includes at airport, railway station and various checkpoints. There are 148 people under surveillance in Nagaland.

Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Anoop Khinchi has urged citizens to observe the ‘janta curfew’ on Sunday as a precautionary measure and restrain themselves from social gathering. He has asked the public to stay indoors as much as possible and has also requested the people to follow up self-lock down process in the coming says as well, ‘as it is the best way to stop the virus from spreading’.  Twelve calls were made to the Dimapur district control room and 20 people visited on March 20, an official from the Health department informed Eastern Mirror about the status on March 21 and added that there were no reported cases of the Covid-19 at the time in Dimapur.

Since it was activation on March 18, a total of 57 calls have been made to the Dimapur district control room till date; and 60 patients have visited it.

He informed that testing of samples for Covid-19 will be sent to Imphal or Jorhat and the result will be available within 24 hours.
