Dimapur, June 19 (EMN): Five more returnees were tested Covid-19 positive on Friday, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 198.
This was informed by the Minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, through a social media update on Friday morning.
"Out of 320 samples tested, 5 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported. 2 patients from Mon QC & Kohima QC respectively & 1 from Dimapur QC,” the minister tweeted at 9:35 am on Friday.
Till date, Health authorities in Nagaland have declared 109 patients as ‘recovered’ while 89 cases are still active in the state.
It may be mentioned that Nagaland recorded its first Covid-19 positive cases on May 25 when three returnees tested positive for the virus.
The number of positive cases breached 100-mark on June 6 as 13 returnees from Chennai tested positive for the virus, taking the state’s tally to 107 on June 6.
The number of Covid-19 recovered cases in the state reached 100-mark on June 16 as 11 more returnees tested negative for Covid-19 in their second tests on Tuesday, taking the recovery tally to 103 in the state.
As of June 18, Dimapur has 36 active cases; followed by Kohima and Mon with 23 active cases respectively; Peren has six active cases and Tuensang with one active case.
