Dimapur, June 7 (EMN): Nagaland reported 11 more Covid-19 positive cases on Sunday, taking the total to 118.
Five cases were reported in the morning, according to a Twitter update by the minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom.
“Five new positive cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the last 24 hours out of the 318 samples tested. All cases are from Dimapur," the minister tweeted.
However, later in the evening, the number increased by six more cases.
"Another six more Covid-19 positive cases reported out of 30 samples tested. All cases are from Dimapur QCs," the minister updated at 4.40 pm.
Health authorities had, on June 6, declared eight patients in Dimapur as having ‘recovered’ following treatment at the Covid-19 hospital.
The total number of active cases in the state currently stands at 110.
Nagaland recorded its first three cases three Covid-19 positive cases on May 25. The fourth case was reported on May 26. Five more cases were recorded on May 27 taking the positive cases to nine.
The cases doubled as the state recorded a total of nine fresh cases, a third-highest single-day increase of positive cases so far, taking the tally to 18 Covid-19 positive cases in Nagaland on May 28.
Seven more returnees from Chennai were tested positive for Covid-19 on May 29, taking the count to 25 on Friday. The state recorded a second-highest single-day increase in the number of cases as eleven more returnees tested positive for the virus on May 30, taking the count to 36.
The number of cases went higher as seven more returnees tested positive for the virus on May 31, taking the tally to 43 in Nagaland.
No positive case was recorded on June 1. Six more returnees from Chennai tested positive for the virus on June 2, taking the total number of positive cases of Nagaland to 49.
Nine more returnees tested positive for the virus on June 3, taking the tally to 58 in the state.
The state recorded its highest single-day increase in the number of cases as 22 returnees from Chennai tested positive for the virus on June 4, taking the total tally of the state to 80.
14 more cases of Covid-19 was recorded on June 5 as returnees from Chennai tested positive for the virus on June 4.
Nagaland crossed the hundred-mark cases on June 6.
