Nagaland Covid-19 update: Fifteen more tested positive; total tally at 578

Dimapur, July 5 (EMN): Fifteen more Covid-19 cases have been reported as returnees tested positive for the virus on Sunday, taking the total tally of the state to 578.

This was informed by the minister of Health, S Pangnyu Phom, through a social media update on Sunday morning.

"Out of 154 samples tested, 15 fresh positive cases of Covid-19 have been detected. 12 in Dimapur, 1 each in Zunheboto, Mokokchung & Kohima," the minister tweeted on Sunday morning.

Till date, Health authorities in Nagaland have declared 228 patients as ‘recovered’ and there were 350 active cases in the state and no death till date.

It may be mentioned that Nagaland recorded its first Covid-19 positive cases on May 25 when three returnees tested positive for the virus.

The number of positive cases breached 100-mark as 13 returnees from Chennai tested positive for the virus, taking the state’s tally to 107 on June 6.

Subsequently, the number of positive cases crossed the 300-mark of Covid-19 cases as 50 returnees tested positive for the virus, taking the state's tally to 330 on June 23.

Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 recovered cases in the state reached 100-mark on June 16 as 11 more returnees tested negative for Covid-19 in their second tests on Tuesday, taking the recovery tally to 103 in the state.

As of July 5, Peren has 157 active cases, followed by Kohima with 76 active cases; Dimapur has 41 active cases; Mon with 42 active cases; Tuensang has 20 active cases; Zunheboto has four active cases; Phek has eight and Mokokchung has two active cases.
