Dimapur, June 23 (EMN): Nagaland has breached the 300-mark of Covid-19 cases as 50 returnees tested positive for the virus on Tuesday, June 23 taking the total number of positive cases to 330 in the state.
This was informed by the Minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, through a social media update on Tuesday morning.
"Out of 312 samples tested, 50 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported. 24 patients from Dimapur QC, 14 patients from Kohima QC and 12 patients from Peren QC,” the minister tweeted at 8:30 am on Tuesday morning.
Till date, Health authorities in Nagaland have declared 141 patients as ‘recovered’. As per the Health department’s update, there are 189 active cases in the state and no death till date.
It may be mentioned that Nagaland recorded its first Covid-19 positive cases on May 25 when three returnees tested positive for the virus.
The number of positive cases breached 100-mark as 13 returnees from Chennai tested positive for the virus, taking the state’s tally to 107 on June 6.
Likewise, the number of positive cases crossed the double century as three more returnees tested positive for the virus, taking the total tally to 201 in the state on June 20.
The number of Covid-19 recovered cases in the state reached 100-mark on June 16 as 11 more returnees tested negative for Covid-19 in their second tests.
As of June 23, Peren has 83 active cases, followed by Dimapur with 43 active cases; Kohima has 35 active cases; Mon has 23 active cases; Tuensang has three active cases; Phek and Zunheboto with has one active case each.
