Dimapur, Oct. 5 (EMN): The total number of Covid-19 positive cases in Nagaland has increased to 6594 with 42 new cases reported on Monday.
The minister of Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, informed in an update on October 5 that 42 new Covid-19 positive cases were detected, out of which 30 were from Dimapur, eight from Mon and four from Kohima.
The minister added that the state also recorded 113 recoveries – 73 in Kohima and 40 in Dimapur—and lauded all frontline workers and IDSP Team for their relentless effort in fighting the pandemic.
According to the information provided by the Health department, Nagaland currently has 1149 active cases, out of which 1108 were asymptomatic, 34 mild, six moderate and one severe case. The state has also registered 5371 recoveries and 12 deaths so far.
In regard to district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur leads with 732, followed by Kohima-289, Mon-83, Tuensang-31, Mokokchung-8, two each in Phek and Zunheboto, one each in Longleng and Wokha, while Longleng and Peren currently have no positive cases.
