Nagaland Covid-19 update: 36 new cases detected

Dimapur, Aug. 21 (EMN): Nagaland recorded 36 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, taking the state's tally to 3619.

This was informed by the minister of Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom.

"36 new positive cases of Covid-19 have been detected out of 742 samples tested. 17 in Kohima, 10 in Dimapur, 7 in Zunheboto and 2 in Peren. Necessary contact tracing have been activated and all primary contacts are under self isolation,” the minister tweeted.

According to the information provided by the Health department till the time of filing this report, the state has 1684 active Covid-19 cases, 1921 recoveries and seven deaths.

In regard to district-wise distribution of Covid-19 cases, Dimapur leads with1095 active cases, followed by Kohima – 631, Mon - 73, Peren - 16, Zunheboto - 72, three each in Wokha and Tuensang, Mokokchung - 2, and Kiphire – 1.

Longleng and Phek districts are coronavirus-free.
