Dimapur, July 2 (EMN): 34 cases of Covid-19 positive have been reported as more returnees tested positive for the virus on Thursday, taking the total tally of the state to 535.
This was informed by the minister of Health, S Pangnyu Phom, through a social media update on Thursday morning.
"34 new positive cases of Covid-19 have been detected out of 226 samples tested. Peren QC- 32; Kohima QC - 1 and Dimapur QC- 1," the minister tweeted on Thursday morning.
Till date, Health authorities in Nagaland have declared 168 patients as ‘recovered’ and 353 as 'active' cases in the state with no death so far.
It may be mentioned that Nagaland recorded it's first Covid-19 positive cases on May 25 when three returnees tested positive for the virus.
The number of positive cases breached the 100-mark as 13 returnees from Chennai tested positive for the virus, taking the state’s tally to 107 on June 6.
Subsequently, the number of Covid-19 positive cases in Nagaland breached the 500-mark as 42 new cases were detected on July 1 which took the state's tally to 501.
As of July 2, Peren has 146 active cases, followed by Kohima with 95 active cases; Dimapur in third with 41 active cases; Mon with 38 active cases; Tuensang with 20 active cases; Zunheboto with three active cases; Phek with 9 active cases and Mokokchung with one active case at the time of writing this report.
