Nagaland Covid-19 update: 21 more tested positive; total tally at 480
Dimapur, July 1 (EMN): Twenty-one more cases of Covid-19 positive have been reported as returnees tested positive for the virus on Wednesday, July 1, taking the total tally of the state to 480.
This was informed by the minister of Health, S Pangnyu Phom, through a social media update on Wednesday morning.
“21 new positive cases of Covid-19 have detected out of 199 samples tested. Peren QC- 10; Phek QC- 8; Kohima QC – 2 and Dimapur QC- 1,” the minister tweeted on Wednesday morning.
Till date, Health authorities in Nagaland have declared 168 patients as ‘recovered’ with 312 active cases in the state.
It may be mentioned that Nagaland recorded its first Covid-19 positive cases on May 25 when three returnees tested positive for the virus.
The number of positive cases breached 100-mark as 13 returnees from Chennai tested positive for the virus, taking the state’s tally to 107 on June 6.
Subsequently, the number of positive cases crossed the 300-mark of Covid-19 cases as 50 returnees tested positive for the virus, taking the state’s tally to 330 on June 23.
Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 recovered cases in the state reached 100-mark on June 16 as 11 more returnees tested negative for Covid-19 in their second tests on Tuesday, taking the recovery tally to 103 in the state.
As of July 1, Kohima has 94 active cases, followed by Peren with 93 active cases; Dimapur has 54 active cases; Mon with 38 active cases; Tuensang with 20 active cases; Zunheboto with three active cases; Phek with nine and Mokokchung with a single active case.
