Nagaland Covid-19 update: 18 new cases detected

Dimapur, Aug. 15 (EMN): Nagaland recorded 18 new Covid-19 positive cases on Saturday, taking the state’s tally to 3340.

The minister of Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, informed this through an update on August 15.

‘18 new positive cases of Covid-19 have been detected out of 348 samples tested. 16 cases in Kohima and one each in Wokha and Tuensang recorded. Necessary contact tracing has been activated,’ the minister tweeted.

According to the Health department, Nagaland has 2001 active Covid-19 cases, 1321 recoveries and eight deaths as on August 15.

Among the districts, Dimapur has highest active cases with 1201 asymptomatic patients, followed by Mon – 116, Kohima – 580, Zunheboto – 75, Peren – 14, Wokha – 8, Tuensang – 3, and two each in Mokokchung and Phek.

Kiphire hasn’t recorded any Covid-19 cases so far, and Longleng too has become coronavirus-free after all the three patients were declared recovered.
