Dimapur, Aug. 22 (EMN): Nagaland recorded 16 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, taking the state's tally to 3635.
This was informed by the minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom.
"16 new positive cases of Covid-19 have been detected out of 723 samples tested. 12 in Kohima, 2 in Tuensang and one each in Wokha and Longleng. Necessary contact tracing have been activated and all primary contacts are under self isolation," the minister tweeted.
According to information provided by the Health department till the time of filing this report, the state has 1546 active Covid-19 cases, 2074 recoveries and eight deaths.
In regard to district-wise distribution of Covid-19 cases, Dimapur leads with 843 active cases, followed by Kohima-532, Mon-73, Peren-3, Mokokchung-2 and Zunheboto-61, Wokha-4, Tuensang- 5, 1 each in Kiphire and Longleng. Phek is currently coronavirus-free.
