Nagaland Covid-19 update: 1575 persons screened, 13 samples await result

Dimapur, April 29 (EMN): Five more Covid-19 suspected samples were sent for testing on Wednesday, taking the total number of samples sent by Nagaland to 644, according to an official update.

 “A total of 644 samples have been sent for testing from the state till date, and results of 631 samples have been received and all have been tested as negative. The results for the remaining 13 samples are awaited,” informed an update from Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha.

It added that a total of 1575 persons were screened on April 29 in various parts of the state and 37 persons are currently under facility quarantine.

6836 people avail financial assistance

Sinha went on to inform that a total of 6836 stranded citizens of Nagaland and those in distress outside the state due to the nationwide Covid-19 lockdown, have been provided financial assistance “by transferring the amounts to their bank accounts”.

“During this lockdown period, gradually several activities have got allowed. However, all may kindly note that all the activities that have been permitted are to be carried out with strict adherence to all the social distancing practices. Everyone should wear face masks in the public places, and spitting in public spaces should be completely avoided. Further, all the work places and establishments should also make arrangements for regularly sanitising their places,” the update read.
