Nagaland Covid-19 cases reach 916

Dimapur, July 16 (EMN):
Fourteen more Covid-19 positive cases were reported on Thursday, taking the state’s tally to 916 so far.

“Out of the 286 samples tested, 14 positive Covid-19 cases have been confirmed. Twelve in Dimapur and two in Kohima,” the minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, tweeted.

He also informed that 43 patients in Peren had recovered, taking the total number of recovered cases to 391.

According to Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha, 524 active cases are asymptomatic and one active case is mild.

“Till date, a total of 17,336 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR. Results of 17,088 samples have been received. Out of the 17,336 samples, a total of 11,009 samples have been sent to BSL-3 Lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) for testing and a total of 10,911 samples have been tested, out of which 567 samples have tested positive.

“In addition, a total of 11,299 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat. 10,571 samples have tested negative, and 347 samples have tested positive which have been sent for confirmation by RT-PCR. A total of 2,932 persons are presently under facility quarantine,” Sinha said in his daily briefing.

Also, the home commissioner informed that the department of Health and Family Welfare has installed 45 more new standalone ventilators in the 11 district hospitals, in addition to the existing facilities.
