Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio expresses grief over Ajit Pawar’s death in Baramati plane crash, extends condolences.

DIMAPUR — Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Wednesday expressed shock and sorrow over the death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who was killed earlier in the day when the aircraft he was travelling in crashed near Baramati in Maharashtra.
In a condolence message, Rio said the tragic and unforeseen incident has plunged Maharashtra and the nation into mourning and has left “an indelible void” in public life.
Describing Pawar as a dedicated public servant, the chief minister said his long years of service to Maharashtra and the country would be remembered with respect. He extended condolences, on behalf of the government and the people of Nagaland, to Pawar’s family and to the government and people of Maharashtra, and said Nagaland stands in solidarity with them in this hour of grief.
“May the departed soul rest in eternal peace, and may God grant strength and courage to the family, friends and well-wishers to endure this profound loss,” the message said.
