Nagaland Governor, Chief Minister condole death of legislator Dr. Imtiwapang Aier
Dimapur, Jan. 7 (EMN): Nagaland Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio haveexpressed grief over the sudden demise of MLA and former Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Dr. Imtiwapang Aier in Dimapur on Saturday.
The 49-year-old legislator was elected to the 13th NLA from 23 Impur Assembly Constituency in the 2018 state assembly election.
Offering condolences to the bereaved family, Mukhi, shared that Aier was an able and dynamic leader committed to the welfare and uplift of the people.
“His demise is an irreparable loss to the people of the state. The contribution as a great leader and statesman in the service of the highest ideals will remain a legacy and inspiration to many,” Mukhi said.
He further prayed that God bestow fortitude to the family to bear this tragic loss and grant solace at this hour of bereavement.
In his condolence message, the chief minister shared that Aier was a “young, dynamic and promising public leader”, who was always “passionate about his work and executed his assignments diligently”.
“He was a sincere and hardworking person. He was a jovial and a humble gentleman with a big heart, who cared much for society’s welfare. Indeed, he was an inspiration to many youngsters,” Rio said.
He said the demise of Aier was a great loss for the state in general and Impur Constituency in particular, and his absence would be deeply felt by everyone.
“Though he is no longer in our midst, his good deeds will always shine and his memories will forever be inscribed in our hearts,” he shared.
Rio further extended deepest condolences to the bereaved family members, relatives and friends.
“May the family find comfort and strength in the Word of God as you come to terms with this loss. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace,” he added.
