Nagaland Chief Minister condoles demise of former minister Yollow Konyak
DIMAPUR — Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio condoled the sudden and untimely demise of former minister and Member of Legislative Assembly YM Yollow Konyak in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Describing the deceased as an energetic and promising leader, the chief minister said Yollow had a deep passion for politics ever since his younger days and had served in a number of associations and unions in various capacities, ‘especially for the uplift of the Wakching area and the Konyaks as a whole, so much so, he took voluntary retirement from government service to enter politics’.
“He was a sincere, hardworking and soft spoken person, and a capable public leader. He cared much for the welfare of his people and his demise is a great loss for the state in general and Konyak tribe in particular,” read his condolence message.
Rio further conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family members on behalf of the government of Nagaland and his family.
“Our prayers and sympathies go out to the family members, relatives and friends of late Shri Konyak as we mourn his demise. May God Almighty grant you strength and solace as you come to terms with this irreparable loss. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace,” he added.
