Nagaland Chief Minister calls meeting on Hornbill Festival

DIMAPUR — Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has scheduled a meeting for October 18 at 10 am in the Secretariat conference hall, Kohima. The meeting will involve all line and sectoral departments and will focus on discussing the preparation status and road map for the 2023 Hornbill Festival. All concerned have been requested to positively attend the meeting, a DIPR update stated.

Rhutso appointed working president of NPP Nagaland

DIMAPUR — President of National People’s Party (NPP), Nagaland State, A Nyamnyei Konyak, has appointed Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhutso, MLA and chief whip of NPP Legislature Party, as the working president of the NPP state unit. The appointment comes into effect from October 13, till further notice, the NPP state unit stated in an update.

Bye-election: NDPP to hand out ticket today

DIMAPUR — The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has announced that it will be issuing party ticket for the upcoming bye-election to the 43-Tapi  Assembly Constituency seat. A ‘ticket ceremony’ is scheduled for Tuesday at 11 am at the NDPP Headquarters in Chümoukedima.

The bye-election, which was announced by the Election Commission of India earlier this week, is set to take place on November 7. As of now, no other political parties have revealed their plans to contest in this election.

The seat became vacant following the demise of Noke Wangnao, Advisor of Social Welfare, on August 28 of this year.
