Dimapur, April 28 (EMN):
Prime Minister Narendra Modi who landed at Dimapur Airport en route to Diphu in Assam on Thursday was received by Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy CM Y Patton along with the 12 BJP legislators.

Rio later tweeted: “A great pleasure to receive and interact with the PM Narendra Modi on his arrival at Dimapur Airport along with my colleagues. My best wishes to him and congratulations to the people of Assam as he launches several development projects today”.

In a series of tweets, the PM said that “from an era of violence, the Northeast is moving to an era of progress. With peace comes development and the Northeast has seen this in the last few years”.

Modi had earlier updated on his Twitter handle, prior to his visit to Diphu, that he would address the ‘peace, unity and development rally’ during which foundation stones will be laid for projects relating to healthcare and education. This includes a veterinary college in Diphu, degree college in West Karbi Anglong and agricultural college in Kolonga.

“In the Dibrugarh programme 7 cancer hospitals across Assam will be inaugurated and foundation stone for 7 more cancer hospitals will be laid. Such upgradation of healthcare facilities across Assam is unprecedented and will help the people tremendously”, tweeted Modi.
