Dimapur, Sep. 4 (EMN): Nagaland is set to receive a new government medical college in Mon district, according to the minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom.

‘Thankful to BJP-led NDA government under the dynamic and visionary leadership of PM Narendra Modi and Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan for approving and sanctioning new government medical college by upgrading District Hospital Mon,’ Phom tweeted on Friday.

The minister had, on July 28, written to the ministry seeking upgrade of the health facility.

‘This landmark decision of the union government will boost Nagaland government’s effort to revolutionise the state health sector. The approval of a new medical college has fulfilled the long cherished dream of the people of Nagaland and Eastern Nagaland in particular,’ Phom tweeted.
