Dimapur, April 28 (EMN): The Chakhesang Clean Election Movement (CCEM) of the Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) launched a poster campaign in its third sitting at Chakhesang Baptist Church Ministers’ Hill, Kohima on April 26.
The poster campaign is part of the CCEM initiative to create awareness among the public of right voting and clean election. The poster campaign was launched by Rev. Khrotso Mero, Executive Secretary, CBCC, invoking God’s blessing for the successful implementation of the clean election movement.
During its sitting, the members re-affirmed the Guidelines of the CCEM formulated in 2017. It discussed the setting of standards/parameters to follow while carrying out the clean election movement at all levels. The house also reiterated the need to follow Christian principles while executing action plans. It appealed to the leaders particularly church workers to speak the truth and base their teachings on the Bible.
Further, the house proposed an area tour in the first phase and an intensive awareness movement at the grass-root level in the second. It decided to hold a chain of prayer, which will begin in May towards successful implementation of the movement.
Earlier, CCEM Chairman, Rev. Vezopa Rhakho chaired the meeting. Representatives from the Chakhesang Public Organisation, Chakhesang Youth Front, Chakhesang Students’ Union, Chakhesang Mothers’ Association, and Area Council Chairman attended the meeting and extended support for the movement.
