Mitelephe, Oct. 26 (EMN): Seyievilie Peter Zashümo, the independent candidate contesting in the bye-poll to 14-Southern Angami-I assembly constituency, called upon the voters of Mitelephe on Monday evening, October 26, to vote for him.
Miltelephe is one of the villages in the Southern Angami region that falls under the constituency of 14-Southern Angami-I A/C.
Speaking at the rally, Zashümo said that it was because of the confidence and trust of the people in him and their blessings that he decided to participate in the upcoming bye-election despite being denied the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) ticket.
Zashümo said that he would ensure economic equality; and the welfare of the poor and the elderly in the constituency would be his priority if he is elected.
He added that he would be the “voice of the voiceless” from the constituency.
