KOHIMA: Legislators termed the budget as ‘people-centric’ participating in the budget speech deliberation which was taken up on the last day of the 14th NLA session.
NPF legislator Kuzholuzo Nienu said the budget was a “pro people's budget” which targeted the common man. He added there is a need for a paradigm shift for the state to achieve excellence. This includes equal distribution of shares for the entire district and its headquarters.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]Good governance is all about transparency, he said and suggested all departments to have a portal showing fund utilisation. He further called for doing away with the ‘ism’ saying that it hampers progress of any society.
Advisor of New and Renewable Energy and Nagaland State Disaster Authority, Z Nyusietho Nyuthe, said the budget was citizen-oriented and comprehensive giving due importance to both rural and urban areas. It also gave importance to youth empowerment, which is a welcome move. He added that a healthy society is essential and the Chief Minister Health Insurance can help boost the health of the people.
NCP legislator P Longon, NPP legislator A Nyamnyei Konyak and advisors Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome and A Panjung Jamir also participated in the discussion.
