- DIMAPUR — The
Nagaland Bar Association (NBA) has resolved to continue pursuing for a separate
high court for Nagaland with renewed vigour and entrusted the High Court Bar
Association, Kohima, to take necessary steps in this regard.
- The resolution to this effect was taken during its annual
general meeting held in the conference hall of Dimapur Bar Association on April
25, stated an update from the association.
- While considering that the Advocate General of the state has
never been appointed from among the legal fraternity in the state since the
inception of statehood in 1963, the association has termed the practice of the
government as disservice to the people and an affront to the legal fraternity
in the state. It, therefore, resolved to publicly express its displeasure with
the government’s continuing practice of appointing the Advocate General from
outside the state.
