Dimapur, Jan. 31 (EMN): A one-day district-level awareness camp on Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) was held at District Industries Centre, Dimapur on Monday.
The awareness camp was attended by PMEGP applicants who are in the process of setting up their proposed units and by those who are intending to apply for the same later during the year.
Functional managers Rarenbenla and Lucy Ngouri and Inspectors Kiyelu T Yeptho and Puloto Chishi enlightened the participants with information on how to apply for the scheme and how to choose the project.
They also highlighted the objectives of PMEGP and how it has helped many unemployed people set up income generating units besides generating employment as well.
They also stressed on the importance of timely repayment of the loan, which would not only keep the record of the beneficiary clean but can also avail more loans in the future.
Officials also reminded the applicants to be sincere in their efforts and to set up their proposed units because concerned agencies would be conducting physical verification.
