Nahtei N Wangnao and Tsuchoi T win men's and women's 10km titles respectively at the Nagaland Cross Country Championships 2025 in Chümoukedima.

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Athletics Association (NAA) successfully conducted the Nagaland Cross Country Championships 2025 on Thursday at Ruovi’s The Palm, Model village, Chümoukedima, with Ruovi’s The Palm as the venue partner.
The championship was organised across various categories, including Senior Men and Women, Under-20 (Men and Women), Under-18 (Men and Women), and Under-16 (Boys and Girls), stated an update.
The Junior events were flagged off by Abu Metha, vice president of the Athletics Federation of India (AFI), chairman of IDAN, and advisor to the chief minister of Nagaland, along with Neingulie Nakhro, treasurer of the Nagaland Athletics Association.
The Senior category events were flagged off by Charlie Sekhose, proprietor of Ruovi’s The Palm, senior vice president of the Naga People’s Front and chairman of Model village.

The prize distribution ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including Abu Metha, Charlie Sekhose, Ihoto K Shohe, councillor, Dimapur Municipal Council, and Shambhudas Bandopadhyay, observer from the Athletics Federation of India and World Athletics Silver Level Referee.
The championship was organised with the primary objective of identifying athletes with promising performances and selecting potential runners for the forthcoming 60th National Cross Country Championships.
In the Men – 10 KM category, Nahtei N Wangnao (34:38.4) secured the first position, followed by Wede Tmero (35:04.3) in second and Kengimlunnghein Keditsu (35:46.6) in third. In the Women – 10 KM, Tsuchoi T (44:05.1) came first, Niansai T (49:58.1) second, and P Manshih Konyak (1:11:29.4) third.
In the Under-20 Men – 8 KM, the winners were: 1st Takasanen Longkumer (32:10.6), 2nd Kupe Vero (32:27.2), and 3rd Ngaugiadi Ngaugiadi (33:24.1).
In the Under-20 Women – 6 KM, the winners were: 1st Jemie Y (30:05.1) and 2nd K Keyizierangtei Samdi (32:50.3). In the Under-18 Men – 6 KM, the winners were: 1st Temsumoa Jamir (24:49.2), 2nd Kakivi J Wotsa (26:02.4), and 3rd Lanurenba Longkumer (26:44.4).
In the Under-16 Boys – 2 KM, the winners were: 1st Ramton Aranghom (9:17.5), 2nd Tokato Zhimomi (10:09.9), and 3rd Liron Mozhui (12:31.8). In the Under-16 Girls – 2 KM, the winners were: 1st Supei S (9:10.5), 2nd Apoang N (10:11.5), and 3rd Nemangliya W Konyak (12:46.2).
