Nagaland assures to resolve doctor’s superannuation age issue within one year

Dimapur, April 17 (EMN): The government of Nagaland on Saturday offered to resolve the demand to increase the superannuation age of doctors in the state within one year.

The chief secretary of Nagaland said this during a meeting with the office bearers and representative of the Nagaland In-service Doctors’ Association (Nida) as well as senior government officials held at Chief Secretary’s Conference Hall in Kohima, on Saturday.

An update from DIPR informed that the issue of superannuation age of the doctors and the proposed agitation of Nida was discussed at the meeting which was convened to break the impasse.

“The chief secretary reiterated the appeal made on 10th April 2021 to not go ahead with the proposed agitation in view of the present Covid situation in the State and the threat of second wave,” read the press release.

He also informed that the government is actively considering the matter relating to the increase in the superannuation age of the medical doctors, while assuring to resolve the matter “within a period not exceeding one year”.
