Dimapur, Nov. 17 (EMN): Following allegation levelled against the people of Nagaland of encroaching inside Daldali reserve forest, a joint spot visit was conducted by deputy commissioner (DC) of Dimapur and commissioner of police (CP) Dimapur on Tuesday along with other officials including DC Diphu which was followed by a meeting.

According to information received from the DC of Dimapur, the following points were discussed:

1. The Diphu officials maintained the boundary of Daldali reserve forest (sic) and the said spot is reserved forest area.

2. Dimapur officials maintained that the boundary as per British map is not accepted by Nagaland side and the case is subjudice in the Supreme Court.

3. Dimapur officials maintained that the spot where the activity is objected to is within the mutually accepted settlement area of Nagaland side.

However since the activity has already been halted till further discussion by both the sides, the DC of Dimapur has requested DC Diphu not to allow economic blockade since the issue is being discussed at the official level.

In response, DC Diphu conveyed that he would discuss with the stakeholders for doing the needful.
