Dimapur, Nov. 11 (EMN): All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU), in a representation addressed to the secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs (scholarship division) and Nagaland minister of Higher Education and Tribal Affairs, has drawn their attention relating to second installment of CSS-Post-Matric Scholarship ST 2021-2022.

In the representation, ANCSU has conveyed appreciation to the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (scholarship division) for releasing an amount of INR 44,35,74,750 towards arrear for the year 2020-2021 and first installment (50% of central share) for the year 2021-2022 under the centrally sponsored scheme of PMS to ST students of Nagaland dated June 24, 2021.

However, ANCSU stated that it was appalled to learn that the remaining amount of grant-in-aid (2nd installment) was yet to be sanctioned to the state government even after the submission of utilisation certificate on June 23, 2022, to the Ministry.

The union informed that the students are anguished and mooting to go for an agitation. The union, therefore, appealed to the authorities concerned to promptly intervene on the matter for immediate release of the pending second installment of CSS-PMS for ST students of Nagaland for the year 2021-2023.

ANCSU further demanded that from the next financial year, sanctioned amount for the aforesaid scholarship should be released to the deserving beneficiaries at one go and not on installment basis in the greater interest and well being of the student community.
