YRS advisor expresses satisfaction over the pace of developmental works

The advisor for Youth Resources and Sports (YRS), Zale Neikha on Monday inspected preparation works at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima for the upcoming Northeast Dr. T Ao Trophy which will start on January 20.

Neikha expressed satisfaction over the pace of ongoing developmental works at the stadium ahead of the tournament. He also requested the department officials to provide all necessary equipment at the stadium and ensure timely completion.

The YRS advisor maintained that the state government was geared up to host the Northeast Dr. T Ao Trophy and a committee headed by the Chief Secretary has already been set up to work out modalities for the success of the tournament. He also interacted with the Nagaland team – 20 players, coach and manager – during his visit.

Neikha told the players, who are undergoing intensive training, to be disciplined on and off the field and maintain team spirit. He also encouraged them and expressed hope that they would bring laurels to the state by winning the coveted trophy, stating that ‘all eyes are on the host team’ and wished them well for the tournament.
