Wokha, May 17 (EMN): All Commercial Vehicles’ Association (ACVA) of Wokha district has reaffirmed its 2014 resolution on ‘One government, one tax,’ while it also appealed to the state government, all the negotiating groups and stakeholders to come together for an early solution to the protracted Indo-Naga political issue.

The reaffirmation to this effect was taken during its 8th foundation day celebration held at Tiyi Hall in Wokha town on May 17. It may be mentioned here that ACVA comprised all commercial vehicles including truck union, ANTA Wokha unit, bus union, mini truck union, pick-up union, autorickshaw union in Wokha district.

Speaking at the programme, ACVA former president, Y Bankathung Lotha, called upon the members to extend support and cooperation and stand firm on its objective as one family and fight against multiple taxations. He also advised the drivers not to indulge in intoxication, stating that it would not only cost their own lives and impact their families but also portray a bad image of the association.

Dean of Wokha Town Baptist Church, Nrikhon Ngullie, said the invocation and Yani Lotha delivered the presidential address.

Short speeches were also delivered by its newly inducted president, Renbi Ngullie, and the general secretary, Nyanbemo Patton. The new team was elected for the tenure 2022-2025.

The celebration concluded with a car rally across Wokha town.
