Nagaland: ‘About Us’ announces first official tour

Dimapur, May 23 (EMN): ‘About Us,’ a rock band from Nagaland, will be felicitated on their first official tour at Wokha Tiyi Hall organised by Acoustic Club Wokha.

The Wokha based acoustic club will be managing the concert for the band ‘About Us’ as part of their promotional tour which will kick start from Wokha on June 3 from 5 pm onwards. This was informed by Acoustic Club President Nzanbemo Patton during a press conference held at Hotel Morashen in Wokha on May 23.

The band has won the hearts of many rock lovers since they dropped their first original ‘Gimme Gimme’.

Patton said, ‘this is not just a concert but a celebration of a breakthrough and achievement in the field of music.’

He said that the concert would be held in collaboration with the District Administration, Wokha with Deputy Commissioner Orenthung Lotha as the chief host together with Sr. PS to Deputy Chief Minister GON Hachio Patton as the chief patron who is also the event sponsor.

Event partners for the concert are Aisle Sound Force and Lights-Audio Gears, Tsungiki Student’s Union, Gracious event Planners, Hotel Morashen, Wokha, Video production partners (Darius & Ryan production studio), Achano Tungoe Photographer, Ete Coffee-for complimentary special coffee for the gallery tickets, Naga Traditional Corner Api Yanthan and other many more individual sponsors.

After 20’s All Girls Rock Band and Giedion Kithan, a sensational 7-year-old guitarist will appear as supporting act during the concert.

Tickets ranging from INR 300/-, INR 500/- and INR 1000/- will be available at Bravo School of Music located at Wokha Village Wothok Ki near police point Wokha, and also at the concert venue.

The venue of the concert has a seating capacity of about 1500 which is expected to be fully packed on the said day.

For Acoustic Club Wokha, formed in the year 2019, the upcoming concert would be their second major musical event after the ‘Doyang Rhythms- Music by the Lake’ which was held last year at Doyang in collaboration with Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA). 

The band is expected to perform 13 to 18 songs including their originals. Yanithung, a new member of the band who will be on the drums would be joining the band on stage for the first time.

Mentioned may also be made that the band ‘About Us’ has recently signed a contract with an Italian based Frontier Records, and they are preparing acoustic versions of their originals for their Japan tour.
