Nagaland Aainball Association establishes ‘Khelshala’ in Kohima
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Aainball Association (NABA) has established the first “Khelshala” in Nagaland, spearheaded by NABA president and MLA Kuzholuzo Azo Nienu and under the aegis of the Aainball Federation of India.
According to a press release, the first batch was introduced on April 20 at Model Higher Secondary School, Kohima, in the presence of school management authorities, physical education teachers, and students.
The project is intended to promote Fit India Movement through Aainball. It aims to consolidate various sports skills under one umbrella and train sports enthusiasts to achieve physical fitness for participation in competitions such as Khelo India, the Indian Olympics, and others.
It mentioned that the trainers (khel ambassadors) of Aainball will undergo training under SPEFL and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to ensure the smooth operation of Khelshala and its promotion in schools, colleges, and universities. Recently, NABA completed training for 38 khel ambassadors, and now all these sports entrepreneurs are prepared to establish Khelshala in various districts of the state.
The Chairman of the Aainball Federation of India, Vice Admiral S N Ghormade, has congratulated Model Higher Secondary School, Kohima.
Aainball is a mixed-gender game, and the Aainball Federation is introducing the “Fit Mothers International League,” providing Khelshala participants with the opportunity to showcase their talent at the global level.
