Nagaland: 80% beneficiaries vaccinated against Covid in Zunheboto

Dimapur, March 11 (EMN): Following intensive vaccination drives, more than 80% eligible beneficiaries in Zunheboto district have been vaccinated against Covid-19 so far.

This was disclosed by the deputy chief medical officer (CMO) of Zunheboto, Dr. Akaho Sema, during a monthly meeting of the district planning and development board held on March 10 chaired by the advisor of Food and Civil Supplies, LMCP, Taxes and DPDB chairman, Pukhayi Sema in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner office. Highlighting the Covid situation at the district, Dr. AkahoSema informed that countering the virus with intensive vaccination has proved to mitigate the hazardous effects of the deadly virus.

During the meeting, the members have discussed on setting up a health sub-center at Khewoto village, construct new EAC headquarters at Saptiqa town, removal of sub-reservoir for site leveling of new DC office complex at PHED compound (North point colony), and upgrade of Snow Field school at Aghunato upto class 8.

In his concluding remarks, Pukhayi Sumi mentioned that his experience with the board members had been memorable and acknowledged the members for their commendable performance. He also lauded the deputy commissioner for calmly handling the situation during the toughest times in the district. He further wished him well in his future endeavours.
