DIMAPUR — Polling for the 43-Tapi Assembly Constituency bye-election will be held tomorrow, November 7, to decide the fate of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) candidate Wangpang Konyak and Indian National Congress (INC)’s Wanglem Konyak.

It will be a straight fight between the two, as other political parties did not field candidates for the bypoll.

Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) devices were dispatched to the polling team in Mon district.

The dispatch was conducted in the presence of several officials including General Observer MG Rajamanickam, Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer Ajit Kumar Verma, Superintendent of Police, Mon Shiluwabang I Longkumer, and Rongsenmenla, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) & Returning Officer of 43 Tapi AC.

This critical step in the election process demonstrates the commitment to ensuring a smooth and transparent electoral procedure in the region, DIPR stated in an update.
