DIMAPUR — A Naga woman identified as Ligha Zhimo, aged about 24 and hailing from Niuland district of Nagaland, died in a road accident in Rajasthan on the night of March 9.
According to reports, the incident occurred between 10 pm and 11 pm when she was returning from work on a two-wheel taxi. The vehicle reportedly collided with an oncoming truck on the Gopalpura Bypass.
Zhimo is said to have died on the spot, while the taxi driver sustained injuries and was admitted to a hospital.
Sources said the deceased had been living in rented accommodation in Malviya Nagar for about two years, where she worked at a beauty parlour.
Meanwhile, President of Naga Students’ Union Rajasthan, Visedelie Shosahie, told Eastern Mirror that the victim’s sister had filed a First Information Report (FIR) with the police on the same night.
He added that the truck driver involved in the accident has been arrested and the vehicle has been seized by the police.
Shosahie further informed that the mortal remains were taken to New Delhi and later airlifted to Dimapur on Wednesday.
