Kohima, May 23 (EMN): A 25 year-old Naga woman allegedly committed suicide at her accommodation in Jodhpur, Rajasthan on Sunday morning.
Confirming this to Eastern Mirror on Sunday evening, Asimbe, president of Naga Students’ Union Rajasthan (NSUR) informed that the deceased, originally from Dimapur district, was reportedly working at Naveen juice restaurant in Jodhpur.
It was informed that necessary arrangements had been made by the owner of the restaurant before the mortal remains were buried at a cemetery after a decent funeral rite was given by pastor Steven Samson.
It was also informed that the deceased was allegedly heard arguing with an individual over the phone the previous night, after which she locked herself inside her room and took her own life.
People residing near her accommodation reported to the police while trying to break her door before finding her dead.
The post-mortem declared that it was a “natural suicide”, it was informed.
Naveen, the owner of the restaurant, also appealed all Nagas who come in search of jobs in the cities not to take ‘wrong steps in claiming one’s life’.
Earlier, the mortal remains were kept at MDM Mathudas hospital in Jodhpur.
NSUR has expressed their condolence to the departed soul and extended heartfelt empathy to the bereaved family.
It was also informed that necessary arrangements had been made with the help of police officer Robin Hibu for the conduct of the burial.
