Naga students in Dehradun hold sports meet

Dimapur, June 27 (EMN): The annual sports meet of the Naga students studying in Dehradun was jointly organised by Naga Students’ Union Dehradun and Dehradun Eastern Naga Students’ Union on the theme “Unity through sports” at Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University, Dehradun from June 23 to the 25th.

The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Preeti Kothiyal, Vice Chancellor Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University as the chief guest and R K Tripathi, Pro-Vice Chancellor as the guest of honour, an update informed.

The sports meet witnessed enthusiastic competition between the four houses namely Yellow Vikings, Red Knights, Green Hornets and Blue Titans. Green Hornets emerged as the overall champion of the sports meet.

Mention may be made that the meet also saw the introduction of traditional Naga wrestling for the first time.
