Dimapur, March 15 (EMN): Taking note of the non-appointment of a new chairman and members to the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC), Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) on Tuesday urged the state government to ensure that appointments to the vacant posts are made at the earliest.

The NSF stated that the NPSC has been ‘paralysed’ after the last NPSC chairman retired on November 20, 2021 and three other members superannuated thereafter.

“However, the government is yet to announce their replacements thus far,” read the federation’s statement.

It said that the non-appointment of members has been the ‘primary reason’ for the ‘delay in the conduct of examinations to various posts falling within the purview of NPSC, while also stalling the process for declaration of results to various exams which were already held’.

‘The NPSC is yet to declare the results of the following competitive examinations conducted by the commission despite the lapse of many months: Technical NPSC (Combined Technical Service Exam) held from September 25 to October 5; NPSC (Civil Service Exam) held on November 27, 2021; and NPSC (Combined Education Services Exam) held on August 14 to the 26th, 2021,’ it said.

The federation, therefore, urged the government to declare the pending results of all examinations without further delay.

“It should be noted that the federation shall continue to remain watchful and mindful of the actions being initiated by the government pertaining to the appeals made and any attempt to undermine the interest of the student and the youth community shall be met with befitting response from our end,” it added.
