Says ‘no’ to all departmental exams for recruitment to Group C post till NSSB is implemented

Dimapur, Jan. 7 (EMN): The Naga Students' Federation (NSF)on Thursday refuted the notice issued by the office of Chief Engineer, Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) for conducting departmental examination for recruitment to various Group C posts on January 13, 2021.

Terming the move as a blatant disregard for its sentiments, the federation reiterated its earlier stand for a 'complete ban of all departmental examinations for recruitment to Group C post until Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) is implemented in the state and that all existing vacancies be requisitioned through NSSB only'.

‘The federation appeals to the department in question to refrain from going ahead with the proposed departmental examination by respecting the aspirations of the youths and student community while also aiding the push for promoting meritocracy in the government job market,’ read the press release.

“More so, the federation shall be compelled to take up actions it deems fit if the concern department and all other departments take up any action in contravention of this public appeal. Furthermore, the federation appeals to all the aspiring candidates to kindly co-operate with the federation and abstain themselves from the proposed departmental examination in our collective bid to uphold and protect the future of the youths and students community,” it added.

The NSF went on to request the chief minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, and his cabinet colleagues to fast track the process of implementing NSSB in the state.

“An amicable solution to the issue of 'reservation and reservation policies' which has been stalling the NSSB must be brought out at the earliest for the overall benefit of the students and youth community in the state as indefinitely withholding the NSSB will proof detrimental to the state as a whole,” added the federation.
