Naga Students’ Federation condemns violence, killing in Manipur
Dimapur: The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has expressed concern over the ongoing violence and arson in several districts of Manipur which has claimed many lives.
While condemning violence, killing and atrocities in the state, causing mass civil unrest and distress to the people, it said claimed the ‘insensitivity of the state government in its approach towards the issue has instigated the situation to be blown out of proportion’.
The NSF also called for better sense to prevail and immediate cessation of all sorts of violence and vandalism. “While the entire region is witness to the many decades of conflict and instability, our collective aspiration for lasting peace cannot be negated and held hostage by few vested interest individuals and groups,” it added.
It also appealed to the government of Nagaland to take up all possible measures in ensuring the safety and security of Nagas currently stranded in Manipur and immediately initiate evacuation process for their safe passage.
