Naga Students’ Federation calls off its proposed agitation over NSSB
Dimapur, Oct. 4 (EMN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) called off its proposed agitation on Monday, a day after its 30-day ultimatum for implementation of Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) expired, following state government’s positive response to its demands.
The federation issued a press release stating that its officials had unanimously decided at its emergency meeting to call off any democratic agitations after the state government officially conveyed about the Cabinet’s direction to the Personnel and Administrative Reforms (P&AR) department to issue advertisement for recruitment of posts like Chairperson and Members under NSSB, as well as Secretary–cum-Controller of Examinations and Assistant Controllers.
It expressed happiness over the development on the matter, which it had been pursuing for years to promote meritocracy in the recruitment process to the various Group C posts in the state.
“The NSF expresses our sincerest gratitude to the government of the day led by Hon’ble Chief Minister Eno. Neiphui Rio for heeding to the call of the Naga youth and students by ensuring that positive steps towards the earliest implementation of NSSB are initiated by the state government,” read the press release.
“The federation further appeals to the state government to expedite the entire process and ensure that examinations under the purview of NSSB are held within this calendar year,” it added.
