- DIMAPUR — The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF)
has announced that it will commence a series of democratic agitations starting
April 29, after the state government failed to revoke the Cabinet order
regularising 147 contractual assistant professors and librarians.
- The NSF decision comes following the expiry of a seven-day
ultimatum it had issued to the state government on April 22.

- Despite a last-ditch effort meeting held this evening with
the state Cabinet, the NSF expressed deep regret that no positive outcome was
achieved.
- “The state government has failed to revoke the Cabinet order
dated 11th September 2024 for the regularisation of 147 contractual assistant
professors under the department of Higher Education. Therefore, the federation
is constrained to proceed with the proposed democratic agitation,” it informed.
- All federating units of the NSF have been instructed to
mobilise volunteers and assemble at 8.30 am on April 29 at Naga Solidarity
Park, Kohima, to initiate the first phase of the agitation.
- “Strict discipline, unity, and adherence to the directives
of the NSF leadership must be maintained throughout the course of the
agitation,” it stated.
