Naga People’s Front to examine list of candidates for Manipur polls

Kohima, Jan. 30 (EMN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has convened a working committee meeting on Monday at its central office in Kohima.

During the meeting, important matters related to finalising and distribution of NPF party tickets to candidates for Manipur polls 2022 would be examined while issues related to Nagaland would be discussed.

While many ticket seekers are coming forward, sources from the party informed Eastern Mirror that they are having a ‘hectic time’ preparing the list of candidates for the polls.

It is likely that about 10 NPF tickets would be allotted for the ensuing Manipur Legislative Assembly elections scheduled on February 27 and March 3.

“The selection committee has already submitted the recommendations but as per the provisions of the constitution, the final approval is to be given by the working committee,” informed NPF president, Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, when asked whether NPF candidates for Manipur polls would be declared during the meeting.

“The working committee will examine those recommendations tomorrow (Monday),” he added.
