Naga People’s Front holds oath-taking ceremonies for new office bearers in Mokokchung and Phek with calls for unity.

DIMAPUR/MOKOKCHUNG — The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Mokokchung and Phek divisions held oath-taking ceremonies for their newly appointed office bearers.
The NPF Phek Division held its oath-taking ceremony for the newly appointed division office bearers and frontal wings—youth, women and farmers—on December 5 at Pfutsero town.
Delivering the keynote address, Minister for Power and Parliamentary Affairs KG Kenye highlighted the brief history of the NPF.
MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu expressed that it was the divine intervention of God that the merger of the NDPP with its 32 MLAs into the NPF, which had only two MLAs, took place. He reaffirmed his personal allegiance to the regional cock party and stated that he would never betray the party under any circumstance.

Urging party workers to be accommodative and sacrificial in the post-merger period of the two regional parties, he encouraged them to remain faithful and sincere in all party affairs.
Nuzota Swuro, senior vice president, congratulated all newly appointed office bearers. Acknowledging that minor oversight is possible while selecting and assigning posts, he appealed to everyone to understand and appreciate each other’s limitations and sacrifices.
He called upon party men and women to rise above past differences, remain united and work with commitment to strengthen the NPF. Later, Swuro administered the oath of allegiance.

Meanwhile, the NPF Mokokchung Division held its programme at the division office in Mokokchung on December 6.
Delivering the welcome address, NPF Mokokchung Division President Repameren highlighted the importance of unity among party members, urging collective effort to strengthen the party for the greater good of the people. He further called for mutual cooperation and support to help the party attain new milestones in its political journey.
Bangerzulu, treasurer of the division, reflected on the party’s origins in Nagaland and recounted how the party symbol, the “cock”, has endured and represented steadfastness through the years.
The oath-taking ceremony was administered by N Bendang Jamir, senior vice president of the NPF Central, who also led the members in reciting the pledge. Following the ceremony, a dedicatory prayer was offered by Moanukshi, associate pastor (youth), Yimyu Baptist Church.
The newly constituted NPF Mokokchung Division will function under the leadership of President Repameren and General Secretary Nathan.
